Laptop Woes, Hopes, and a Solution on the Horizon?

So my laptop. x3 It was getting worse and worse for a long time. I can't run PS, I can barely run Skype, I have browser crashes several time a day...yes.

Finally figured out that it's been overheating severely. I can't open the case at the moment and check the fan (bad battery connection... needs resoldering), so I resorted to pulling out the battery and propping it up. Temps have dropped, performance has improved to the point where things aren't crashing. Much.

I'm looking for new ones at the moment. My deadline is the Windows 8 release, so... new laptop soon, hopefully?

Nanowrimo!

I wasn't gonna do it. I swore I wouldn't do it. Between school, work, and being on the production team for two shows at the moment, I really am not sure if I have the time.

But a story and an urge to write grabbed my brain. So I am going to make an attempt. I haven't written anything in a long time, I'm quite rusty, and I have tech and performance for two shows during that month, so we'll see how it goes.

Is anyone else going to try? Tell me what you're writing about!

And in Other News:

I've been having a really busy and fun sophomore year so far. Went to NYC on a research trip over my fall break: we were looking at environmental sustainability on Broadway, and the Broadway Green Alliance. Saw my first two Broadway shows (Peter and the Star Catcher, and An Enemy of the People), found some Indian food at last, and had a fantastic time.
